Ram Kit ?

I'm not finding 8 sticks of ram that look decent for what I want can't you just buy single sticks of ram you want and make your own kit or is they're a reason they come in kits or ram?

RAM comes in kits gurantee to work together, mixing ram is possible but not recommended unless you already have RAM and wanting to add new ones.

if i bought the same exact ram but one piece at at time

You could buy 2 identical kits of 4 sticks RAM, this'll work just fine.

What mobo and CPU do you want to use it with?

Manufacturers claim that kits are made from the same batch of chips to guarantee maximum compatibility and stability, but that honestly sounds like snake oil to me.  Any 4 individual sticks of the same make and model will do just fine as long as you're not overclocking them to the very limit.  

 

Perhaps an idea for a "sh*t manufacturers say" video, @LinusTech and @Slick ?
