Extremely slow ethernet connection

Hey everyone,

I'm using a Gigabyte HD3 Z97 rev. 2 motherboard. I was testing the best spots for internet, and I used my mac from 2012 to test network speeds. In one spot, I got a solid 49 mb/s. I brought my PC down, set it up and got only 25 mb/s download speed. I'm using a Netgear powerline and it is connected to the ethernet port on my motherboard. Is it just because I have a bad motherboard? Or is there any setting I can tweak to fix this decline in network performance?

Thanks in advance :)

I marked the potential problem. Powerline network speeds are heavily dependent on the quality of your mains lines, how noisy they are, and if they need to make hops across circuits (I think that's a thing).
