Raid 1 Problems

Hey community!

After formatting two of my Seagate hard drives in my PC to raid 1, my computer started having problems. I have a 960 Evo, and the boots were quick with the hdds unformatted, but after using windows to format them to raid 1, my computer took longer to boot and wouldn't shut down. I eventually had to hold the power button for a few seconds to get it to turn off. Help!!!
