so i built this pc about 2 years ago and i have two monitors, it allowed me to play games and watch youtube on the side/ browse the web if i wanted to. now (playing the same games) now youtube videos freeze/ rubberband and web browsing is incredibly slow (loading the pages and such) i had this issue about 2 months ago but i fixed it but bumping up the clocking on my ram but I haven't changed any thing and the problems back, any solutions? or are my parts just going bad?

also, side note - when it lags my games it doesn't reduce framerate, however, the games randomly freeze for like .5 of a sec, but the fps counter doesn't drop.

use a hardware monitor and see if there's any abnormalities. what you're describing is normally attributed to the CPU peaking at 100% for a short amount of time for some reason or another.

you can try reinstalling windows in case it's software/hardware related.

thats the strange thing is all of my things ie ram, gpu, and cpu arent caped.

cpu looks like its throttling probable due to overheating, install hw monitor and look at your temps.

o wow thanks, i just checked in my case and a wire was caught in the fan stopping it (cpu fan) from spinning geez good idea

First thing to fix would be the HDD speeds. It'll be a lot more responsive if you set it up to keep it's cache in ram instead of on the disk.

The high background usage during the test along with the low GPU and CPU scores leads me to believe you might be suffering from some DPC issues. Possibly with the graphics driver itself, but you'd need to test it to verify.

keep it bellow 75 and you will be fine.

after fixing the fan this was the new score http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/4327405 but it still doesn't explain the bad gpu score, i have two gpu so they should be doing a lot better they usually do

i just quickly ran my pc through the benchmark and my background cpu is 2%, yours is 65%. when running a benchmark make sure you close all other programs/games, if that does not help there is probably a background process eating up you cpu.

it looks like it tests just 1 gpu there is no mention of sli on multi gpu on the results, it also uses a gtx 1070 as it 100% mark so 60% for a 970 does not look to bad, your previous tests where probable done before the release of the current generation of gpus and because of this your score would of been higher. also what is your gpu model?

taken from userbenchmark.com faq

  • SLI/CrossFire configurations are not supported. Where possible we run the bench with just one GPU enabled

i think everything is fine now, your cpu looks good and is preforming as expected. you gpu is preforming a little lower than expected but only by a few percent, this may be due to a little dust build up in your heatsink, also make sure you to disable g-sync or any other frame limiting software when running a benchmark. or it may be the 2nd gpu that's not benchmarked is pulling some resources from the 1st causing you score to be a little lower than someone running a single 970.

next time you have an extended gaming session take a look at your gpu temps anything upto 80% is acceptable. not sure if you already using it or not but here's evga's graphics utility, it gives you control over power, frequency, and allows you to monitor temps and set at what temp your gpu will start throttling.
