if you want new:

 

1. go to pcpartpicker.com

2. go to the cases secton

3. check the ATX checkbox

4. sort by lowest price

 

if you want used:

 

1. if there are any computer recyclers or stuff like freegeek in your area, talk to them.

2. if not, go on craigslist, or your used buying site of choice, and search for ATX computer cases. pick the cheapest one.

Go to the local e-waste facility. Stand out front. Ask the first person that comes by with a full ATX system if they'd let you have it rather than just tossing it. Offer a few bucks if you have to, maybe be prepared to open it up, take out the hard drive and hand it back to them on the spot.

 

If there's no e-waste facility, thrift shops and yard sales are great ways to find cheap PCs that you can salvage the case from and sell the components.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
