So I just recently built my first pc using the Ryzen 1500x.

When i was playing a pubg game I noticed i was getting a drop in fps.

I assumed it was my cpu and realized i hadn't fully secured the cpu cooler.

I just downloaded a cpu monitor app and was noticing a really wide range of temps.

Can someone please tell me if this is normal or i have something wrong with my pc.

Core Temp is buggy with Ryzen. Use the AMD monitor tool: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master

use ryzen master or NZXT CAM for monitoring temps for ryzen, some programs can display up to a 20c difference from what the temps really are

Using ryzen master idle its at around 43 degrees celcius, using light programs like chrome its at about 55 and when i used cinebench it went up to 71 degrees is this normal?

hmm that's considerably hotter than the 1600 i am running (stock clock right now), idle or just browsing/streaming,  it never really passes 45 degrees wit hthe stock heatsink on 50% fan speed. While gaming and streaming video it reaches around 55 degrees. You might wanna try replacing your thermal past and see if that helps a bit.

The FPS drops you get in PUBG are because it's still a pretty badly optimized game, not because your processor is overheating. I use a 1600X at 4.0 GHz and a GTX 1070, and my FPS fluctuates as well. It fluctuated on my old rig sporting an i7-980X, and it fluctuates on my friends' rigs which use 6700K's and 7700K's.

There's no issue. You're good.
