Chipped phone screen

I rently dropped my phone an chipped the screen.If I leave it as is would I do any damage in the future

Either replace the display or put a screen protector on it.

I'm concerned over the water-resistance of the components behind the screen, but you should get a protector as @THE ABSURD BIRD mentioned or use a thick glue to fill in the space.

Fill it with super glue. Suoernglienis water resistant and will stick there forever

As for a screen protector it won't work. The chip is at the Corner so water and dust can get in it and the protected will eventually come off.

 

Best is to get a case with built in screen protector like the plastic or glass ones that are held on by the top part of the case. So you don't have to worry about it coming unstuck or coming off from taking it out your pocket

Get a screen protector, and fill in that gap. Or replace the screen. I'd use silicone or something to fill it in.

As far as damage, I'd imagine any kind of liquid in there will cause it harm. Rain, etc.
Wrap it up.

If you do nothing, over time the screen will eventually chip away.
