Good Mining Rig?

I'm extremely new to mining but my buddy is willing to sell his 2 x R9 390s for $499. According to the calculator online I used, it'll be 4 months before I profit. That's okay for me. Is this a good build for mining? Any pointers? Thanks!

 Yeah, I'm worried about that. However, there are a bunch of cryptocurrencies out there. I'm not sure, but I would assume that at least one will be profitable.

Your "buddy" is jumping off a sinking ship. Cryptocurrency is losing profitability very fast.

Ethereum recently dropped in half thanks to new stuff that made it less profitable. I'm not so sure it'll jump back up...

 

Plus anyhow, if you're looking at trading stuff the stock market is generally a better option. It's not as volatile as cryptocurrencies and if you want to play it safe you can always go the mutual fund route which has a super high chance of you making money off it.
