So I'm looking to upgrade my entire setup and found these CPUs: Intel Core i5-7640X which says it has 2 memory channels, does that mean I can only have 2 sticks of RAM?

The other CPU is the Intel Core i7-7800X Skylake-X. Which CPU should I get?

Also I want to liquid cool, any suggestions for beginners?

Last question, would this motherboard be a good fit: ASUS PRIME X299-A?

don't get the 7640x, just no, if you want a 4core 4thread cpu get a 7600k, it's basically the same thing and the mobo you'll be buying for it won't cost as much or be gimped by stupidity. the 7800x is fine afaik.

liquid cooling advice, single 120/140mm rads are garbage, if you're looking at something like that buy an equally priced air cooler and get much better thermals, and probably better noise. 240/280mm rads or bigger are where you want to be looking

lastly, asus has always been good to me  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Buy Ryzen its the only way to go these days.

We will see what Intel does next to stay ahead of AMD, but right now the best bang for the buck is AMD Ryzen, 1700/1800

There is no need to buy Intel, none.

I will definitely look into a Ryzen thanks!
