I purchased a Logitech Z506 5.1 surround sound audio system for my computer at Bestbuy about a year ago. While it is a great system for the price, I no longer have a need for the surround sound part of it. My computer is now on a standing desk, and the length of the desktop speakers are too short to reach the ground. The right front speaker has a short serial connector that controls the power and volume to the floor receiver, and at standing height it wouldn't reach where I need it too. So I am most likely going to return them to bestbuy to get a full desktop system (I always purchase the 2 year warranty at BestBuy so I can return my used/broken electronics, no questions asked). I would be interested in studio monitors but I do not have the budget for that right now. Also, I don't need a subwoofer because I live in apartment, but I still need speakers with decent bass.

What would the best option be for me to spend around $80-100 at Bestbuy? I have a decent sized desk so space shouldn't be a problem.

Edit: Bose, but looks promising considering my options: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/bose-companion-2-series-iii-multimedia-speaker-system-2-piece/8864513.p?skuId=8864513
