Second SSD for storing games

Go to solution Solved by MVPernula,

Having separate drives doing different things makes stuff go faster.

If your SSD has to drive your OS and game at the same time things go slower assuming it's at 100%.

Having 2 separate drives doing a task each will make them

Hi

Currently, I have a 120GB ssd for my OS. I am planning to buy a 1TB ssd to store my games.

I want to ask if playing games on a secondary drive will be slower? As in not running on the same drive with the OS? Or at the end it depends on the read/write speed? It doesnt matter whether the games is same drive with the OS or not?

FYI the OS ssd is a slower drive, does this matter?

Games will not drive to the OS drive first? Or it directly goes to RAM?

Im referring the loading time. Not the fps.

By performance he means loading time :)

Since the game is launched from the secondary SSD your main OS drive has to work less.

It's just a better sollution to faster load times.
