So I'm starting to build my own PC (Although I won't be done for at least a few months because lack of money). I have to buy it part by part because third world country and killer inflation means that buying everything at once is extremely more expensive (I literally saved 30 dollars on a case and motherboard by purchasing two days before, and 50 if it's one week later).

The motherboard I chose is a B350M, and I'm going with a Ryzen 5 1600 (as soon as I have the money for it). A friend of mine has commented to me that she's seen a lot of cases of unstable memory with Ryzen chips. She recommended that I go with a 3200MHz+ kit of memory, as those seem to work better. Can anyone as an owner confirm this?

Which specific B350 board?

Some of them have QVL lists so you can check which memory will work.

Google:

"(name of your board) RAM compatibility"

I say that not to be flippant or disrespectful, but because the Ryzen RAM situation changes every time an OEM pushes out a new BIOS update. Gigabyte has a QVL for RAM compatible with its boards, and even that's wrong half the time.

RAM speed matters very little in terms of compatibility as long as you're not trying to run 3200MHz on a board only designed for 2666 or something like that. In fact, you'll find QVLs right now have a lot of 2133 and 2400, some 2666 and not a whole lot of 3000 and 3200. It's the RAM vendor and configuration that Ryzen has some issues with right now.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Double click "ram speed" to have the highest show at the top. I somehow doubt those 4000mhz one's will work though.

3200 and possibly 3600 would be the highest i'd go, just to be safe
