This is a long and complicated story, so bear with me. I had a good Win10 system running:

i7-4770k

8gb Corsair Vengeance

GTX 970

GA-Z87N-WIFI

CX500M

Corsair H100i

1tb WD Blue HD

250gb Sandisk SSD

BitFinex Prodigy

A few years back I spilt some water on my PC, but I let it dry for a week and it has worked fine since. I don't think this has anything to do with that, but I figured I should mention it.

So over the Winter holidays, my computer hadn't been used very much. My grandfather passed away and I my computer's spot was taken by my grandfather's iMac. When I eventually moved my computer back upstairs to its old spot. When I turned it on, I noticed it was strangely slow. It turned out that my water cooler's pump had died, and my CPU had been running at around 90c for about 30 minutes. Luckily I had my stock CPU cooler laying around, and that made it work. I took this opportunity to make my computer a hackintosh for some school stuff. And for a while, things were fine.

Around the time of Overwatch's anniversary update, I decided that I wanted to install windows. So I made a windows 10 drive off of a friend's computer, and tried to install it. This seemed to work up until it rebooted. It said "getting devices ready". At some point it would freeze, and then reboot to "windows encountered an unexpected error". This continued, although I somehow booted into windows 2 times, but it always had an error after a reboot.

Now, I can't get any operating system to install, not even MacOS. I have tried taking out ram sticks, and installing to both the hard drive and the SSD.

Any clue what the heck is wrong with my computer?

I'm confused, are you talking about the iMac or the PC?

try remaking your windows 10 install media and re-installing again.

I don't know about hackintosh and never tried it but when you used hackintosh, did you changed anything in bios maybe? Sorry nothing comes up to my mind other than that

Nothing major, and I reset the bios multiple times.
