open power options and goto advanced options

set cpu min% to 0 

max % to 100

 

my system in taskmanger now shows 20mhz to 2.1ghz boost as its power range

and will hold the boost speed steady (1.6ghz cpu)

what system? Probably throttling due to temps or power or time.

it was asus laptop 

no throttling just able to run down to lower power settings

default min% was 100 as was max%

i expected the unit to not boot or get crazy slow but nope

watching youtube vids with side by side snap to taskmanager cpu would go down to .01ghz

yes decimal ghz

neat as before this change it was 1.6ghz with boost to 2.1ghz (boost would not hold)

after it would run boost till cpu got hot then yes thermal throttle kick in and drop to 1.7 to 1.8ghz

but only ever held 2.1ghz when gaming(wow, and other steam games) or antivirus full scan with chkdsk or defrag going at same time

but note i shit all asus crapware from system minus leaving their .ics color profile in windows based manager and had profiles set for my exe files in windows 3d manager

games were set to single display

desktop and webbrowser dual display
