Posted this on reddit without much sucess

Have a 2009 Macbook pro core 2 duo 2GHz 4Gb RAM 500Gb SSD Nvidia 9400M 256mb shared. I would like to replace it to something better.

Total budget and country of purchase:

800-1000 Euros if I reeeealy stretch the budget. Spain (Although I can order from Amazon)

Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.

Best specifications for money, then battery life… I don’t care about touch screens at all.

How important is weight and thinness to you?

I would prefer it to be thin and light I want to carry it around, but really lightness is what I care most.

Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.

I would prefer MacOS but given my budget and needs, Win10 will suffice

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

Between 13 and 15 inches. I would like it to be relatively small so it fits my backpack. It is essential that it has a good resolution since I plan to study from there and spend many hours in front of it.

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

I edit some video and audio from time to time. Nothing too serious.

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

I would like it to be able to play some intensive games such as Total War Warhammer, DOOM 2016, The Wither 3, GTA V and Resident EVIL VII, as well as Dolphin emulator. At 45 plus fps at least. I do plan to spend the money I had for a PS4 in this laptop so I want a good replacement for a console. Settings are not that important so far it does not look like a potato (Nothing at ultra is needed, maybe mid/high, mid).

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

Reliable build quality, good screen, good battery for studying on the library with wifi on or at least a battery I can charge with a external battery pack or something.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I do plan to use this laptop to study and game. I want it to be light with good battery life, and not scream “Gamer-like”. A good screen is fundamental. And I want it to replace a PS4 in gaming capabilities.

I was thinking in a Razer blade, but I saw the price and had to run far far away (3000 euros).

Thanks :)

I would recommend these laptops maybe, they should run the games you stated and the softwares quite well.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-13-3-Inch-Ultrabook-Integrated-Professional/dp/B00T9RSZ9I/ref=sr_1_7?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1499253136&sr=1-7

Those this next one is a little over the budget you said but it's got more power than the first one:

I would also say what TDCDitgital said and just look around youtube or amazon for the best for your buck.
