My old gaming laptop is starting to crap out on me, and im looking to make the switch to a desk top

My budget is 1500-2000$ Canadian, but there is some wiggle room there.

Im not looking for anything to crazy. Just doing my gaming in 1080, but would also like a build that could allow me to upgrade in future.

Also interested in recommendations for monitors and keyboards.

This is my first time building my own computer so any help i can get would be appreciated.

Thanks

Does the budget include monitor and keyboard and mouse?

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

This is based on not needing the Monitor/Keyboard in the price, so I set them to 0.00 but you can check out the prices if you click the link. I dont know your budget for the monitor or other stuff so I just shot for the middle.

Decided to go with an AMD themed build. For 1080p gaming, think the RX 580 is perfect; especially when paired with a FreeSync Monitor. Went with Ryzen 1600 for CPU, think its the better bang for the buck in today's market. For keyboard I didn't want to go too high-end but didn't want to go too cheap either; while not listed on pcpartpicker, I think the MechanicalEagle Z-88 RGB is a good choice, you can find it here.

I included a 1440p 165 hz g sync monitor because WHY NOT and it's awesome.

I didn't include keyboard and mouse because I don't know that much about em so I'd rather leave that choice to somebody else.

Do note, the 1070s are pretty much all out of stock right now thanks to miners. The cheapest one I could find in stock right now is this guy

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/fKp323/msi-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-video-card-gtx-1070-gaming-x-8g

And that's for $730 freaking dollars, by which time you might as well go buy a 1080 instead. I didn't even mention that there's only one in stock so by the time you go to buy it it's probably gone. So either you could really stretch your budget and get something like this 1080 instead

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/Yh8H99/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-8gb-sc2-gaming-icx-video-card-08g-p4-6583-kr (and by stretch I mean with keyboard and mouse included you're probably looking at spending $2400 or so), or you could go on the used market and try finding a 980 ti (you might be able to find one around $500 CAD, which is what you should be paying for a 1070). 980 ti performs about the same as a 1070, it just draws more power and you'd be getting used instead of new. You can thank the miners for these stupidly high prices.

Why a 1700 for a gaming build? SSD is meh, and good luck finding a 1060 in stock.
