i dont understand the logic here . Dr.Lisa Su said in ryzen lunch about "core to core" against intel but why they par the ryzen 5 1600x in an i5 7600k ? its clearly not "core to core" the ryzen 5 1600x is 6C12T its clearly in an i7 line ? can somebody explain to me why ?

I think she was referring to R7 1700 and i7 6800k/6900k not R5 1600 and i5 7600k

that is my point if you watch the entire video u see that amd comparing the ryzen 5 1600x to an i5 7600k just watch on the presentation

I don't think she was comparing individual cores to individual cores tho. Mind linking it?

Yeah, but not when comparing 1600x to 7600k...

When you have two products with similar pricing, you're naturally going to compare the two. It happens all the time.

yeah it was i7 and r7 not R5. I remember the Horizon presentation never mentioned R5

i know but the she said "cores to cores" so i assume that the ryzen 5 1600x 6 cores 12 threads will par on an i7 due to its core count but why they pair it in i5 ? i5 is a 4C4T

That's what are you assuming. The focus of the presentation is R7 not R5

they mean that this time core to core at the same frequency they are pretty close to intels perf, but at the same time they sell you those cores at a much cheaper price, so not only are you getting pretty good per core perf you are also getting more cores

i know the price is there target . but how bout the core to core ?

Sure. The R7 1700 is about on par with the i7-6900K in synthetic CPU and productivity benchmarks such as Blender or Adobe Premiere.

But when you have two products with the same pricing, you're going to always clump the two in the same bracket.

its clear to me now . i just read an article its clearly "core to core in old gen cpu's" not the new ones :D

what does it even matter anyway go read some reviews, and look for those that re tested ryzen as it gained some perf in the last few months

You should not be comparing amount of cores when comparing between 2 CPU anyway. It's not the only thing that matters.

i know . but come on logic . same cores but the few cores beating the many cores ? for example the ryzen 1700 8C16T against an 4C8T ?

only in games and mostly because of bad optimization as the frequency advantage is less than the core advantage, in anything that uses the cores well, intel is rekt

plus while it may have lower fps in some games it stutters a lot less because the background tasks can be done on cores that aren't working on the game
