I got a corasir air 740 and it comes with 3 stock fans. The case allows for 2 140mm at top, 2 140mm at the front and 2 140mm at the bottom. I plan on using 1 as the back exhaust and 2 as top exhausts. I have purchased 4 noctua industrial 3000rpm fans. Should I buy two more and not use the stock fans or will I be fine with the stocks. Also what is your recommended fan setup?

Recommended is 2-3 fans maybe 4 in total. More than that is a waste of money.
Those Noctua fans will probably be unreasonably loud. What led you to gettting the freaking 3k RPM version?

What ypou are aiming vore is positive pressure as in more intakes than exhaust fans but ti also depends on the RPM you run them at.

Why do you need 7 fans?

I would defintely populate both intake slots and the exhaust slot at the back (that is what I use in my Define R4). Maybe ad on in The bottom as intake and one as exhaust :/ I don't even know where to put 7 fans

I can control the fan speeds and anything above 1000rpm is when the noise kicks in. I have slots for 7 fans to fit well so thats why.

I have the air 740 and use the all the fan locations. I personally use the stock fan in the back and have no problems with it. My personal rig I use a push/pull setup for the h115i in the front and then two 140 NZXT fans in the top and then two 120mil NZXT fans in the bottom.

Because it doesn't make any different and is a waste of money you could have spent on other parts.

Don't believe me? -What about Luke:

a push/pull setup for the h115i

This is an acctually usefull application of a higher amount of fans. Benefits are still low noticable but. it can benefit noise/performance.

EDIT:Taking low back.

It dropped the temps by I think 10 degrees celsius I think, it has be over a month since I put them in and can't remember what they were previously. If you are wondering, yes it does fit (just) with that setup with a full length GPU installed

I guess I have to experiment and see for myself. I will be going for the 2 front + 1 back + 2 top and I will add the two stock fans at the bottom to see if temps go down even further.

What are the benefits of push/pull and where do you use this setup?

I use it for my AIO in the front of the case. I like push/pull because it helps lower the temperature of the AIO for the cpu. For example at my 5820k at %60 load it keeps it at about 40°c all the time. It also allows the fans to spin lower but still have the same affect as if I had one set at full speed.
