And do i need to update the bios on them? I saw a video on updating the Msi z270 tomahawk bios and i have heard it can break the motherboard so do i need to update the bios and is it dangerous and how is it done?

Do you mean ASUS "Strix" Z270-F? Then probably that? I'm not so good with these motherboard shenanigans
