Christmas is coming up and my mother is giving me one of two options for a present - A PS4 or a $400 PC that I build. To the PC. I have an OS and all of that stuff, the $400 is just the PC. I live on the east coast of the USA, so currency is USD. I am upgrading because I an using a P4 and a 9800 GT.... Yea.... Should I go ahead and build one, or should I wait for a Kaveri A8 and go that route with DDR4?

Edit: I would go with the PS4 but they are out of stock. Everywhere. Fry's, Bet Buy, Target, Walmart. Everywhere. If you can find somewhere where it is for sale and not $1100, that would be much appreciated.

I was looking at something like this for the APU

CPU:  AMD A8-6600K 3.9GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($104.24 @ Amazon)
Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $356.19
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Go console. For 400 $ you will get a lot more performance from the console  than from an APU build.

If you want PC wait for Kaveri

maybe add a fan to keep it cool and steady airflow and for looks. then install it in front http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-fan-r4l2r20agr2

EDIT:
Oh and yea, i choose 500w PSU because you can upgrade gpu later for something beefier in the future, so you dont need to switch anything. And CPU will be strong for some time too ^^
But if you want more GPU power, i will make build with 7770 or something now, and athlon. 5 minutes.

For example:

Motherboard:  MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard  ($59.91 @ Amazon)
Video Card:  MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card  ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Case:  Raidmax Atlas ATX-295WB ATX Mid Tower Case  ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply:  Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($27.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $405.24
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
