USB 3.1 Card

Go to solution Solved by suchamoneypit,

Yes and yes

that is the exact purpose of these add-in cards.

Simple question: can I hook this card

to this motherboard?

in other words, that strix motherboard only has Type A, it doesn't have Type C

so can I buy a PCIe card with Type C and connect to this motherboard or do I need a board that comes with type c?

cheers

You can connect that card to that motherboard, yes.

But I'm not sure I understand the second bit of your question.

I'm sorry I was in rush when typing this.

the strix board only comes with type A usb. the asus motherboard that comes with type A and Type C USB connectors is $250 (Hero) so i thought i'd buy a cheaper board + type c card.

There's two motherboards? Why didn't you mention that in the opening/first post?

sorry about that.

Strix does not have type c

Hero does have type c

strix costs $100 less than hero

third party type c card costs $25

so i figured it was a good idea lol
