Looking for a mothrerboard

Go to solution Solved by ShafterGT,

alright i got it

Hello, I am building a Mini ITX build in the Fractal Design Define Nano S case, and need a gaming motherboard to fit. It needs to support my AMD FX  8-Core Black Edition FX-8350 (AM3+ Socket) Would prefer it to have support for DDR4 ram, but i can work with DDR3. This case has a window, so i would like a nice looking motherboard, like the Gigabyte Gaming motherboards. The build has a very chiche red and black theme, so please keep that in mind. I am doing a custom loop in this machine, hardline and everything, (it will fit, there are mounts in the case, i own it, ive got this part worked out) I need a water block and back plate to fit a Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming graphics card. Could someone direct me to where i can buy fittings and glass tubing for this build, that would be great. If i think of anything else ill add it somehow

970 board with 970 graphics = amazing performance (2014?)

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).

Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later

My head on 2019 :

Note 10, S10, Samsung becomes Apple, Zen 2, 3700X, Renegade X lol

Pretty sure you can go on basically any hardline video on YT and find out who sponsored it.

I've heard about EK,  coolermaster, and DeepCool being qutie nice in that department.

FX-8350 is a rather old architecture built on old old 2010 stuff. You want to keep that in mind. So DDR4 will not be supported.

I also want you to take into account what the parts cost vs what this system is able to do. As you know, very old platform, etc, and I personally would not watercool (especially hardline) this stuff. You could be putting what you have into newer, air cooled hardware, and still have a much better performing system than what you could have gotten if you decided to stick with your FX CPU.

A 970, while nothing to scoff at, still can't perform anywhere near the 1070/newer generation graphics cards. It costs $105 to just get the waterblock for it, when you could be selling your 970 and getting an aircooled 1070 for better performance overall.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Has to have at least 6 cores.

FX CPUs don't have what we normally consider "cores".

Check out the difference in this video:

Essentially: 6 FX cores =/= 6 intel cores
