I need help picking some components.

1. Mobo: I've decided on a ROG Hero IV. Is the Formula worth the extra $80-100? What extra will it give me performance wise if anything? Do guys have any recommendations for a mobo within $250? How is the sabertooth Z87?

2. CPU Cooler: I've decided on the EVO 212 because for the price it seems to be doing well. Is it worth spending $100 on an H100i? How much more overclocking would I be able to do on a 4770K?

Thanks

The mobo doesn't affect performance.

You'd probably get ~0.5ghz more with the h100i over the 212 Evo.

What do you use the system for?

I would get a Noctua NH-U14s or U12s, they will perform just as well as the h100i, are cheaper and much quieter.

The Hero is a nice board but unless you are choosing it for its color scheme or sound, it is not significantly better for your needs than other z87 motherboards. You might want to consider the ASUS Z87-A. It's not a super fancy board, but will do a very workman-like job. You can use the savings to improve other parts of the build.

The 212 EVO is about 10C warmer and 12 dB quieter at load than an H100i. I'm a fan of liquid cooling. The H100i does limit case selection. An alternative that is almost as good is the H80i. It can be used in virtually any case with a 120mm fan.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
