i7 4790K and GTX 1080 Ti at 3440x1440P LOW GPU USAGE

Ey guys, first of all, sorry if my english is bad, im Spanish. Okay, yesterday i bought a MSI GTX GAMING X 1080 TI New and i Have this PC

-i7 4790k
-Asrock Z97 Extreme 4
- G.Skill 2133mhz DDR3 16GB
-Antec 650W plus Bronze
-Zalman Raserator MAX 3
-Acer 3440x1440p 75Hz
And 1 SSD With 2 HDDs

I Install the graphic card, reinstall windows 10 pro edition, in the creators update (a clean reinstall in the bios) and install al my apps and other things, all perfect BUTTTTT some games have LOW GPU Usage, The Witcher 3 in the forest is like 99% all the time and 80-90fps Maxed Out but in the City the GPU usage lows to 70-60% and the fps drop lowe than 60.... In forza horizon 3 i have 70% more or less in all the game.... and in GTA 5 The same, In rise of the tomb rider and a lot of games...

I have very well temperatures like 65º in both gpu and cpu....
I have the ¨performance¨setting in windows too.... and i don't know wtf is happening.

I notice what in forza horizon 3 the Core 1 is at 90% and the others at 30-20% but i think this is a problem with the game....

And i'm very sourprised, because a guy in youtube with the same pc hasn`t any problem...

what is the cpu usage?

around 40%-60% or less, normal i guess, but in other games like Mass Effect Andromeda or Doom the GPU are constantly at 99% at the cpu like 40-60%

That seems low. In Witcher 3 my CPU usage is peaks to 80-90% in the city on a 5820k at 4.4Ghz.

Don't worry, you can run 1080Ti cards on old 1150 slow DDR3 Rigs too, getting some bottleneck, willing to run that CPU on 5Ghz? Getting a smaller bottleneck on Devils canyon, read all about it!

If you never made it to kaby, wait for coffeelake on X299 or go for kaby on X299 now, who cares, your setup is still kind of high end on it's last days, 980Ti was a better fit i guess, but what you own is great!

He's talking about the i5 750 not his 4790k.... Even then the i5 is out running OP in some areas.

This is not a good example video at all!

I did run 1080Ti on some old Rigs, they all bottleneck it, except X99 or X299 on stepping 4.6, kaby on 5Gh

How exactly is it not? The i5 750 is a horrendous bottleneck yet is somehow pulling similar numbers to OP when it should be miles behind....

You better do a 1080Ti on 7700k and 7740k next to the 1150 CPU's handling 1080Ti! Then you would have a example video!

OP doesn't have that. You aren't helping at all. My example shows that something is off in his rig. Plain and simple.

Helping, you just don't read, you need to run that devils canyon on 5Ghz too, to get less bottleneck! Please read better!

No. He. Doesn't. His rig is running in between that i5 750@3.6ghz and a STOCK 4790k and is actually closer to that i5. The issue is somewhere so stop being stupid.

Ignore the troll, 4790K is within spitting distance of 6700K and 7700K in being the best gaming CPU.

Back to topic, I own the same system as you and don't have this issue. Check the drivers.

@Deme77 Check your temps of the CPU and GPU to make sure they aren't overheating then check the CPU clock speed while in those areas. If none of that is running outside of normal conditions please run DDU and reinstall your graphics drivers.

It's not the CPU usage that bottlenecks the GPU. His CPU isn't the problem, trolling?

there might be some compatibility issues / bugs with his CPU. Maybe he needs to reset the BIOS.

bomerr,

i think every error as faulty DIMM's and CPU are tested, easy to trace these issues running tools. Some people did build CPU testers on ARM berry class things, they are a bit as these DIMM testers and PSU testers, basic routine checks, what will it be?

what frames are you getting?

Forza - is that a racing game? Isn't it? Racing games were pretty much solved in 2004, it's not graphically intensive task to perform, maybe that's why your GPU is power saving?
