Hi everyone,

Recently had a new PC built which is supposed to have a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD and a WD Black 1TB HDD installed. Since I got the PC the SSD is the only drive that's been visible in my drives, my devices and in Disk Management. I've downloaded the WD Drive Utilities app but that's not recognising any WD drives either.

Is there a simple fix that I don't know about or is this a potential problem I need talk about with the people who sold me the build.

Any help's appreciated, thanks.

Check the SATA power and data cables that goes between the motherboard and HDD itself.

They could have wiggled loose, so now your WD HDD is not showing up.

Yes, take the size panel off and have a look. Post pictures here if you're not sure what you're looking for.

I edit my posts a lot.

I had a similar problem with a WD Black 2TB, but it showed unrecognizable, so i formated it and worked fine, i've been moving files to it for a few hours then i found out that it disappeared, i've restarted my pc and it showed up again. It must've put on sleep mode.

Does anyone know how to make it to never turn off?
