First run Memtest86 a few times over

Run Prime95 for 12 hours

If that's not the problem, try installing windows onto a different drive (I noticed you have more than one) It could very well be the HDD.

If that fixes it, reinstall windows onto your primary drive (having wiped it.) and if it starts crashing again, that drive is your problem.

The first step to insanity is believing in your sanity.

You have a 3820 paired with a 650? And these people are saying my rig is unbalanced...

Wait, that is your actual rig? I thought that was just a joke...

Why do you have a 4960X? Do you videography?

I'm gonna let one of the TS guys answer that one.

Is running Windows memory diagnostic tool enough?  I've ran Crystal disk info and all the drives seem okay.  I've ran Aida64 stress test a few times

No I highly suggest that if you actually want to find out what is wrong with your rig, you need to spend some tedious hours letting it run things like memtest and prime95, personally I have never used aida64 but I have heard good things, for CPU I would suggest running your choice of stress test for AT LEAST 12 hours and for memory you should run memtest about 3-4 times if you are on a tight schedule and for a full night if you can.

Trust me, fault finding isn't fun, it's tedious but it is better than thinking you got the solution only to have the problem crop up again the next day or so.

The first step to insanity is believing in your sanity.

Don't run it lots of times, run it once for 12+ hours. Preferably 24+.

That way you can rule out your CPU... and to some extent your memory (although not really, you need to test memory outside of the OS)

I've ran Windows memory diagnostic tool, no problems, I'll run a stress test but I can't for 24hours.

Yea, windows memory diagnostic isn't ideal.

Can you run memtest86?

Can you stress test for 12 hours at least?

I think a stress test has already been done by someone else at my local PC shop when they were fixing up the power supply (it was under warranty there) So I won't do that until I need to, I have a feeling it was Microsoft Security Essentials, so I removed that.  And I'll see how it goes. If I get another random crash I will report it here.  Also too, I would think faulty CPU or RAM would cause a BSOD and not just a "Explorer and stopped working" and then "Restarting Explorer"  Do you think its software related or do you really think its hardware related? because its only ever happened once I updated MSE to the latest version.  Although a couple days ago I had a BSOD straight after I locked my computer.  So kinda worried about that.  Do you think a BIOS update will help too?

Hmm, I don't think that BIOS update will make a difference (someone with more experience may know better).

By the sounds of it, it is a software issue. I see what you're saying.

Let us know if you keep getting the issues with MSE uninstalled.

How often are you getting the "Explorer has stopped working?"

Every day or so.  But I'm glad you finally understand, I have dyslexia and find it hard to explain things I apologize.

EDIT:

Thanks for your help! I REALLY appreciate it! I'll get back to this post to say what happens!

Strange that you get them so randomly.

Your explanation was fine, don't worry about it. It's my understanding of the problem which was the issue :)

And yes, please let us know what how it goes! :)
