First PC Value Build. Rate My Plan.

Hi guys. So i want to build my first PC for gaming and general use and these are the parts i was thinking of using. I'm aiming to for 1080p ultra settings in modern games right now, but im not looking to future proof more than is reasonable. I live in Australia so all prices are in AUD.

CPU: AMD A8 7650k Black edition unlocked ($109 AUD)

  • i want a cpu which gets close to 4 GHZ with OC and has 4 cores minimum. I chose this for it's good value and the option of taking advantage if HSA in the future.

MOBO: MSI FM2+ MicroATX A88XM-E45 ($99 AUD)

  • As im planning on getting a video card later, the hdmi is a must and im a musician so good audio is a must. Also i want USB 3.0 and gigabit lan.

RAM: Crucial DDR3 8GB stick ($80 AUD)

  • MOBO only two dim slots so i need to get a high capacity ram stick now so i can get another later.

Storage: 3.5" 1tb WD Blue 7200 rpm ($68 AUD)

  • Need storage immediately for my mums business so i cant get an SSD, even though i understand the benefits.

Case: Casecom rsm 91 ATX case (comes with 3X RGB fans) ($89 AUD)

  • Great value for the Aesthetics, but im willing to get a dirt cheap case if need be, and i would like the option of front bays so im not completely sold.

PSU: 550 Watt Thermaltake Lite Power ($65 AUD)

  • Cheapest PSU above 500 watts with a name i'd heard of

GPU: GTX 1060, 6GB, from Gigabyte. ($469 AUD)

  • I'm strapped for cast ATM so i plan on buying a GPU later but this similar to what i'd get eventually.

Total Price of the Rig is $ 949 AUD with video card, $524 AUD without. neither of these prices include OS.

So my challenge to you is to build me a system for the same money that performs better or spends money more wisely than this. I can't afford the video card yet, and im hoping prices will go down soon so the system will need a 4 core CPU which OC's close to 4.0 GHZ, with 8 gb ram, HDMI and a PSU with room for expansion for $524 AUD.

All of the things on this list are available at my local computer store but im completely open to some dual xeon server thing off ebay if you can see a good value way to do it. Dam i wish FM2 socket chips could be dual socketed haha.

Take away the SSD and it costs 888.6 AUD.

Mid range cards are overpriced, so a 1050ti. I'll pick a 970 if used stuff is an option. That costs about 250 aud, but has 1060 performance.

Value to me, means geting the best parts for the lowest price possible. Value =/= cheap. I pieced together a Build that is not only great in terms of quality, BUT is meant to serve as a solid foundation for the next years and upgrades. Skimping on Build quality is no option when it comes to a new build and a moderate budget. This build has only one weak point, that being the gpu. Why? Because Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency miners drive up the gpu prices like crazy, so gettng the cheapest gpu for now and then wait for prices to settle down after this craze is prudent. Until then, the 1050 is enough for basic gaming needs. My younger brother literally plays games like witcher 3 and others on a rig with a gtx 850 and they run great and look nice when settings are adjusted properly.

Anyway here is my understanding of a "value Build".
