CPU Cooler Fan Clearance

Hello,

 

I have a phanteks p400s case, and the specs say it has a 160mm cpu cooler clearance, but I am looking at getting a beefy cooler, the cryorig r1, and it says it's a 168.3mm fan.

 

Would I be able to use it despite being 8.3mm taller?

 

I put a 170mm piece of paper upright starting ontop of the ram module (which means it should be more than 10mm higher than the clearance specs), and it still doesn't touch the side window... would there be any heating issues caused by the end of the heatpipes if they're too close?

I would say no. If it was 1 or 2mm, you may be able to chance it, but 8mm is to much to risk that much money on.

shouldn't be any heating issues, the only real concern is it not clearing or rubbing against the side panel, but if you measured it then you're probably good.

D15 seems to fit and its 165mm.
