I have a manual for my mother board, no manual for the case. I have a hard time understanding where to connect most of the connections to the mother board. The case has fan controls and the HHD hot swap with connections that I did not see any connectors for. The case did not have any type of manual with it, although it came with a one page with some kind of directions that are very hard to make out what the connectors are and where they go..

here is my mother board and case,

Manual for mobo will have pics for case wires. Those wires have labels.

Hot swap is set up from BIOS where you select it to each SATA port separately. If you want to set it for certain slots, use single drive to map which port is which. Or just refer to manual where connectors go.

I would highly recommend using all your fans with mobo headers. You get better control.

thank you for the info. I just figured out that the fan control switches need to be hooked to the 4pin to the power supply and the HDD hot swap connects to the 4pin power supply and 3pin to mother board.. some of the labels on the wires and on the mother board has me confused. this is my very first build and never did this before so it's hard for me to under stand what's going on.

I still have time to look at the mother board manual because I won't have all my parts till almost Dec. the only parts left to get is my second video card, ram SSDI, both 27 inch curved monitors and the last will be my  intel I7 extreme 10 core CPU

Hi folks, I know I had a couple of folks give me some input on my computer build, however the manual for the motherboard and my case dose not show exactly how to hook up the HDD hot swap from my case to the mother board and other cables. this is my case and motherboard(  ASUS ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 Extended ATX Motherboards - ...

DIYPC Skyline-07-B Black SECC ATX Full Tower USB3.0 Gaming Computer Case w/ 7 x 120mm Blue Fans ). One person gave me a site that would have had wiring diagrams but that site dose not work.

this is my first build and I'm looking for wiring diagrams on exactly how and were to place the cables.. If anyone can help that would be great.

thank you

for once, @yathisis actually right, youtube is going to be your best friend here.

Linus has several videos with walkthroughs, as do many other well known youtubers. (i would link but im at work.)

it sounds like you just need to plug the sata data and sata power cables into the harddrive.

sata data will go from the harddrive to the right side of the motherboard, and sata power will go to the power supply

Like I said in your previous post

You do hot swap from BIOS and for each SATA connector separately. If you need more from point A to point B style guide, you could have just asked in previous topic.

It literally is like :

  1. Find out which of the bays is hot swap (I'm using added, so I've actually installed it myself).
  2. Connect SATA power and data to it.
  3. Connect other end of data cable to one of mobos ports (refer to manual which are SATA ports if you don't know). Mark down or remember number of port that you used (sometimes mobo uses labels 1-6 instead of 0-5, so take that into consideration. In BIOS first port is always 0).
  4. Go to BIOS and find tab where all ports are listed. Can't help you further in this without checking on manual and I'm at work atm.
  5. On the port number you selected choose that port acts as hot swap.
  6. Boot to OS and test. If you've set it right, HDD will act like USB stick.

the HDD hot swap is not  sada  connected it has plugs that hook in to one of the power supply cables then into the power supply with a small connector that connects in to the mother board.. No one on you tube has done a video with my mother board and case. Thus makes it hard for me to pin point where things are hooked to.. I know how to hook up a few things but not all..

thank you all for your feed back
