What would be the lowest price for an entry-level wireless AC router? At the same price point, would I just be better off getting a higher quality wireless-N? ~5-6 connected devices at any given time.

u would probably be better off getting a high end N router. AC routers still havent been around long enough to have a cheap AC router to beat a high end n router

^This.  The problem with using 5ghz is, while it isnt as susceptible to interference, physical objects (walls, floors, ceilings, etc.) in its path hurt signal strength.  If you bought a cheap AC router with shit range, then forget about it, you might as well still be back on wireless G.  WITH THAT SAID, higher end AC routers with massive range and signal integrity won't have this problem.

Buy a decent N router or fork up the money for a good AC router.  Sorry :\  They'll get cheaper soon though, so, if you don't need it right now, wait a few months and see what happens.
