So my power supply starts amking weird noises when i run a graphically demanding programs. So I´m guessing that when the GPU ramps up it´s wattage, that´s also when the PSU starts sounding weird.

Should i look for a new PSU? Is this a sign that the PSU is about to give up and could that be dangerous for the rest of my system?

The PSU is an Corsair CX750M

Thanks in advance!

If it's like a (taken from Its Not Important)  "high pitched mosquitos"? Then it sounds like coil whine.

Nothing dangerous about that, just really annoying to listen to. Depending on the manfacturer some might do an exchange if it's within warranty depending on the severety of the issue.

can you describe the kind of noise? coilwhine can be common on older PSU, but just so be safe I would get a new one fast, since when the psu dies it is most likely to damage other components in your pc aswell.

buzzing/screetchy sound. Almost like a fan but more "electrical" or something like that

i would give it a shot and RMA it, if it is still within the warranty, corsairs tends to just give you a new one, they are awesome like that. Other than that, if it is just coil whine, i would not worry to much, it is just annoying.

The PC is prebuilt, so I´ve asked the manufacturer what the warranty is. If I´ve got Corsairs own warranty it should still be usable

Sounds about the same, but not quite as much. Seems like it is coil whine then. Thanks for the help :)

Although Corsair is a lovely company to deal with for RMA, they may not let you RMA your unit for coil whine since it affects a ton of different units, is luck of the draw, and doesn't impact performance at all.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
