So I have a gtx evga 980ti,Windows 8, biostar ta970, FX 6300.

So playing PUBG this causes my pc to crash after about 84° on the gpu( complete freeze requiring reboot)

Running fan curve at 100% seems to do the trick but still peaks at 82° crashing very minimally.

Installed this in my son's pc and he bench tested it 4k fire strike and maxed at 65°-69°. Ran skydiver test to see if it was fps related ran cooler and no freezes just some coil whine.

I wonder if it's my mobo overvoltage the gpu with bad vrm?

Also noticed my 6300fx running pubg 2 cores would volt up to 2.8 briefly. ( that doesn't look safe)

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

If it is the mobo, guess that's what you get for 50 bucks.

Thanks,

Could definitely be a bad mobo with bad VRM but the first thing I would do is update your BIOS firmware to the newest version to make sure it's not just a bug.

Could also be a PSU issue. What is your PSU?

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

what case are you using? that seems quite high
try removing the drivers with ddu and reinstall the latest.
if that doesnt help try underclocking it by maybe 100-200 mhz

I'll definetly check the mobo update.

My son upgraded his psu so he give me his old cx750m. And he ran 2 gtx980s and a 4.5 ghz on 6600k no problem. Removed my old 700w rocketfish.
