More than one External GPUs

I am just curious about this. Can you run more than one external GPU?

Of course they are not going to be in SLI/Crossfire. But mostly for rendering or GPU computation, ie machine learning.

 

My idea is that if you are traveling with your friends/coworker that also have an external GPU, when they are not using it, can you borrow it and get some benefit??

 

Also do you think there will be 2 external GPU enclosure coming that can SLI/crossfire once there is like Thunderbolt 4/5 that support the throughput?

You could do this with crosfire but will be hell of a flaky setup

If the I/O suits your needs, i would say yes. But not in all Programs / Games
