2011-3 isn't worth buying since the launch of Ryzen + X299

 

But 2011 can only support the i7 5820k, 5930k, or 5960x on those mobos. (as well as Xeons)

2011-v3 can support the I7 6800k, 6860k, 6900k and 6950X. (as well as Xeons)

There is no difference between 2011-3 and 2011-v3, it's the same thing.

Of course it's completely different from standard 2011 which was the x79 platform and the two are not compatible.

2011 supports the 3820, 3930K, 3960X, 4820K, 4930K, 4960X and v1 and v2 Xeons

2011-3 (or 2011 v3 same thing) supports the 5820K, 5930K, 5960X, 6800K, 6850K, 6900K, 6950X and v3 and v4 Xeons
