Okay, so Im trying to get into off camera flash photography. This is on my Canon 5d3.

I am in possession of a Speedlite 430EX (Yes the first one!) and a 430EX iii-rt and looking for a way to remotely control these two. The latter can be controlled using the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT, thankfully, since the Canon version costs an arm and a leg, and the Yongnuo actually gets quite good reviews.

My issue is that I would like a 2nd flash in the system as well. The 430EX has an optical slave mode, which I have never figured out how to use (and is quite useless on the 5d since it has no built in pop up flash).

There are 2 options after that.

1) Sell the thing and go for something with a built in RT receiver, probably from Yongnuo, since the Canon is far too expensive to afford atm. The issue with this is that the Yongnuo RT flashgun is quite large (600EX size) which is an issue since I'd like to be able to carry both with me with all my kit in 1 bag, and its kinda full atm.

2) I need a recommendation for an RT receiver, that can enable me to use the 430EX using the YN-E3-RT, or another system altogether that would allow the remote control of 2 flash units, one of which has no such functionality built in.

Also, I would like for the receiver and transmitter to be as cheap as possible at this point, but not for them to be in need of an upgrade in a couple of months.

This is somewhat achieved with this doodad here (I think) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yongnuo-Wireless-Receiver-ST-E3-RT-YN-E3-RT/dp/B00VJOFXDU/ref=pd_sim_421_6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=HPJ7AN1P6MJN3K0QTH3J

So the question is, will these work? Is there another, cheaper or easier solution to running all this?

It may work.  Otherwise just get a set of Yongnuo wireless kit that includes one transmitter and multiple receivers.  Another budget brand I recommend is Phottix.

Go to the Yongnuo website to check compatibility.
