build First ever PC what do i put in it?

So I'm a console gamer and I've decided that's it's time for me to ascend to PC gaming. I have no knowledge what so ever about building PC's or how parts work so I'd appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction on what i should be putting into my rig. 

 

My budget is 1000-1300 USD 

 

I'm interested in getting into games like cs go and Rising storm if any of that matters, some of the more graphically demanding games to like arma and what not, any advice is appreciated thanks.

Ryzen 5 1600, 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM, a GTX 1070 or 1080, and then the usual SSD, HDD, a good PSU, and your favourite case. I can't actually make a list, as it's tricky on my phone.

Other than the i5 (terrible value compared to a Ryzen 5 1600 + B350 mobo), it's a decent build. 

 

EDIT: needs an SSD, and a better PSU.

ryzen would actually be nice. and the ssd is in there the samsung evo 250gb

OP, do you only need the tower or also monitors and peripherals?

First time Gaming PC owner. I assume you will need all the peripherals and accessories go along with that. So system will be $900 and the rest for others essential parts, and of course the less you pay the better.

Yeah, but it looks kind of ugly and usually atx is a better option due to more io or traces being less cramped which could potentially improve stuff like memory OCing.

I went with a 1060+such a nice monitor because g sync and it means you can upgrade the gpu and not have a monitor as the limiting factor.

 

Also I'm not too sure about mouse so I just went with g502, you may have different preferences.

Thanks after discussing this build with others and cross checking I've decided this is what ill go with, the only question i have is will the case fit all these components?  Also any additional tips putting a PC together for the first time and any fatal mistakes to avoid will be appreciated, thanks.

The case will fit all of the components.

Do not work on carpet and properly ground yourself. Like a antistatic wrist band.

Note that ryzen is still new and it's still being improved and ironed out. 

The alternative can be a intel build.

The price of the build can go lower, if you don't mind using a basic keyboard and mouse.

Hello, Welcome! People let this slip,but an antivirus and anti-malware are essential to PC gaming, not just because Identity theft.etc, but it can also cause lag spikes in games and make your system slow.

 

I recommend Avira free antivirus and Hitman Pro.. 

Hitman Pro is paid after 30 days but it is worth it! Malware bytes is alright..

Also remember if you get a detection, do not delete it immediately! Always ask, either the company or a trusted member of LTT forums. The detection may be a false positive and the whole PC may just die.
