you have a 7700k and a b250 board. Get a z270 board.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

please don;t get a single rad liquid cooler. many regular air coolers will give better performance for a simmilar price.

also, you might want to invest a bit into an SSD for your OS, since it really does help with boot times and such.

I strongly disagree with the overclocking CPU paired with a B250 board. why would you hamper the part you spend the most money on. B250 motherboards also don't support XMP. also if you're not planning to overclock, since you're going for a B250, you have a negative amount of reasons to get a water cooler.

But technically everything is compatible.

  • CPU
    Ryzen R6 5700X

in order to really leverage the overclocking potential of a 7700k, you will want to have a Z270 board otherwise you will not be able to overclock.

Do not get that CPU cooler. get an air cooler instead as one of similar price will perform equal/better than a single rad water cooler will without any of the downsides of a liquid cooler. If you want to do liquid cooling, I recommend a 240mm radiator or larger.

Your build does not have a SSD.... having an SSD for your OS will make a MASSIVE difference in day-to-day use performance and quality of life.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, In your budget range, I would recommend a Ryzen build rather than an i7 build. the only time a 7700k is better than anything Ryzen has to offer is when you are gaming at high refresh rates, refresh rates which you will not be able to achieve on this budget. My recommendation would be to get an R5 1600, a B350 motherboard, and save yourself a ton of money. Currently, you are overspending for your CPU in a way that will not be beneficial to your performance as you will have other limiting factors in your system. Doing this will also mean you do not need to get a CPU cooler as the stock Ryzen 1600 fan is pretty good on its own. with the money saved you will be able to afford a SSD and 16GB of faster RAM (3000-3200MHz RAM is important in a Ryzen build to really utilize its optimum level of performance. Faster RAM is always better for Ryzen, but faster than 3200MHz can be very difficult to get stable and very expensive to find so its probably not worth it, but 3000-3200MHz RAM is relatively cheap and easy to implement)
