Iv'e really wanted to watercool for a while, however the price, difficulty and maintenance has always put me off, however, i'm now really considering watercooling and i wondered if it really is a maintenance heavy thing or is it just getting it together that's hard

dont use Hardline tubing if its your first go with Custom water cooling. Not worth it, youll be spending so much money because you fucked up the bends doing it yourself.

I thought you were gonna use like Corsair H70, well it is safe then if you follow the manual correctly

Yes and no. If you do it properly with good quality products it's safe as component failure is pretty uncommon. However, it is possible to mess something up and leak over sensitive components, so in that sense it's also dangerous.

It's not really maintenance heavy. Biggest thing is changing out the liquid, but it doesn't need to be done all the often. Maybe once or twice a year. If you plan the loop out well and build in a well positioned drain port and filling point, it's easy to do.

I would personally advise against hardline tubing for a first watcooling build. The process is much harder and more precise than using soft tubing. It also makes swapping out components in the future very difficult so I wouldn't really advise it at all if the build is going to be upgraded in the future.

As long as you can read instructions and or watch a youtube video and you buy quality fittings and components it'll be more safe than an aio imo over the years and the maintenance is really easy just make sure to add a means of draining your loop easily so its not a hassle.

If taken the proper procedure to leak test and assemble the loop leaks are not common to occur unless something has failed in the loop to cause it.

Custom water loops are something I never recommend doing for the first time without someone experienced to physically help you. I also would recommend you have someone who knows the brands and their strengths and weaknesses to help you pick out the components.

I myself haven't done a custom loop in a couple of years. I steer everyone to AIOs or air cooling. It's just to much on the average gamer and not worth it to them. If you are a enthusiast with plenty of time to sit and play with maxing everything then go for it. Just remember if tinkering with clocks and voltages all day to hit that sweet spot is your game then you will benefit but if not stay away.

Me too. Except I have a H60. Hard line is well hard to get right but if you want to tackle it and you seemed set on a custom loop. Hard line though. Man that's a tuff first unless you already have jigs and some experience with say copper or conduit bending or something to work off of.

There are videos online as there is for anything but getting it right isn't easy. You will scrap a lot of hard line before getting it right and it needs special cutting  equipment to be done right. Looks are more important to you then cooling it seems and I understand. I'm I wrong? If so find someone to help or pay a professional and get the hard line if you just can't go without it.
