4 GBs Of RAM for Rust

So I didn't check the minimum requirements before I purchased the game.....

And well my specs are:

Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GhZ

4 GB DDR3 1066 mhz

MSI GTX 750 Ti OC

(psu, case and mobo shouldn't matter in this case.)

And the minimum requirements are:

Atleast 2 GhZ processor

8 GB of RAM

and any DX9 or higher card.

So I started the game and it was unplayable, so I looked on YouTube and saw this video:

And it actually was at least playable in the video, so I'm wondering why is it totaly unplayable on my PC.

I would assume you have updated all drivers to the latest right? If that is the case, you might want to tone down a lot on your settings. Try setting it to the lowest possible then from there slowly up the settings.

Rust will be unplayable with 4 gigs of ram. I used to hit the 8 gig limit quite frequently and after adding another 8 gigs it manages to get my usage up to as high as 12 gigs.

I have tried it on lowest settings, even edited config file. Yes my drivers are up to date

Hmmm. Do you have any background program running? Like chrome or some thing that eats up the RAM like no body business? I would assume the video you show has almost or nothing running in the background.

The video is from November 18th 2015. It's an ancient version of Rust.

Rust gets monthly updates (at least) and the requirements have changed since that video was posted a year and a half ago
