What exactly do you need it for? Are you mixing cooper and ali? Otherwise corrosion in a water loop isn't to much of a concern. Most coolant premix include a anti corrosive.

Honestly, all anti-corrosion agents will lose their potency after a while. The bigger thing is you should never be mixing metals (see Whaler's post above) in the first place. You should never need to add anything to a premix. Additives are only needed when using straight distilled water. Even then, if you haven't mixed metals, you can typically get by with just a biocide/kill coil.

Yep if you are just using distillled water then maybe silver kill coil and something like mayhems biocide would be needed. Save your self the hassle and get some pre mix as others have posted.

Nah biocide is the right term on the mayhems bottle, it is an anticorrosive which is what you are asking.

Yeah save yourself the hassle and get some pre mix. Messing with ph's and how many silver kill coil pieces you should have etc is a bit of a ball ache.

Tubing generally has a habit of turning to shit before anything else, getting cloudy, etc (more noticeable with clear tubing). So you may well be changing your water due to this than before any other problem. Just use distilled water, mayhems additive and don't mix metals on your blocks/rads.

MartinsLiquidLab did a write up on different additives and stuff a while back. Here's the article.

You shouldn't use both a kill coil and biocide at the same time.

I've personally had bad experiences with Mayhems Biocide Extreme and therefore can't recommend it. I use 2 coils in my main rig.

I have to admit, the radiator fluid would be awesome, but really sketchy. I'm not taking a PC pumped full of toxic radiator fluid into my house, but you're right about the color it's pretty sick. If you want that color though you could just go with Swiftech HyrdX. Thanks, Crion for the link, it was very helpful, and i found what biocide I will use there. I might not use an anti-corrosion agent because none of my blocks are plated metal, and they're all copper. But if I do use one, it'll probably be HyrdX. I don't want to use pre-mixes because they're too much work for up-keep.

KK cool, I've got two in my rig atm, seems to be fine, had it running like for the past year and changed water twice during that period and i've got nickle plated blocks too. I'll give it a close inspection in about two months when I have to re service my rig again. hope nothing bad comes of it though. Thanks for the heads up though.
