Everyone here has heard about the guy that bought a pizza for 10000 bitcoin in 2010. I decided to search for the transaction and I managed to find it too For anyone interested:

My reasoning was that you put monetary units in front of the actual number. Just like you would say "I bought a house for USD 1,000,000.".

If you're wondering where those coins went you don't need to look far. They are likely partially in your wallet if you have used a mixing service, an exchange, or just general transactions.

Very true, the first "proof" that it actually could be used as a replacement for fiat. In the end, you're far better of just using Bitcoin as a currency rather than converting it into fiat. That's what it's supposed to be used for anyway.

If you go back in some archived forums surrounding Bitcoin you will find people giving away, and losing hundreds if not thousands of Bitcoins in single transactions for no reason other to have fun before they had any value attached.

 

I remember reading that the first exchange for fiat that set the price of Bitcoin had it's value based on the seller calculating how much it cost him to mine in electricity and selling them for cost. The price was something absurd like $0.0005 At least it was something like that, I read it along time ago and have no idea where to begin with finding the source heh.
