First PC build

Hi all, I was wondering if you could help me out with this. I am planning to do a pc build, but I am not exactly sure if everything is compatible. Please go easy on me, as this is my first time building a PC.

 

CPU: Intel Core I5-7600K

GPU: Radeon RX 580 8 GB

RAM: 16 GB, DDR 4, 2133 MHz

HDD: 1 up to 2 TB at 7200 RPM

Optical Drive: ASUS 24D5MT

PSU: Cooler Master B600

Motherboard: ASUS Prime B250 Plus

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Case: Sharkoon VG5-V

 

The next assets are not included in the $1100

Monitor :AOC G2460VQ6 24''

Mouse and keyboard: Whatever gets the job done

 

I do not want to overclock the system, hence I do not really care if it is possible.

If I looked over something or if anything is not compatible, please tell me what I can do to make the system work, knowledge is power!

Throw away Intel, get AMD Ryzen 5 1600.

I am a bit of a dummy if it is about AMD, what Intel CPU can we compare the Ryzen 5 1600 with?

An Intel CPU will have a bit better IPC, but fewer cores. One of my mates went R7 1700 and he had an i7 4790k, he reported slightly higher FPS and better frame timings.

Alright, got it. This got me wondering, how can the Ryzen be at the same performance level as the I5-7600K, even though it's frequency (MHz)is  lower?

6 cores. 12 threads. vs the i5 4 cores 4 threads. Kaby Lake has better IPC though, so you will get slightly higher performance in games with the i5, but the R5 will crush the i5 when doing multithreaded tasks.

I see where you are going, but I do actually prefer HDD's over SSD's, and I think I am comfortable with the Sharkoon case. The GTX 1060 6 GB might indeed be the better choice here.

I can guess Dutch

 

Anyways, SSD improves boot times a lot. Get that, then add an HDD later. They are cheap.

 

EDIT: Also I included the 1060 over the 580 because it was out of stock, just like the rest of the world.
