- If you have a nice box that you bought, this is the retail license. It includes manual, and 2 disk. One for 32-bit systems, and the other for 64-bit systems
- If you have nothing, no product key, and Windows came with your pre-build system, then that is the OEM license.
- If you have bought Windows for cheaper price by considerable margin on the MSRP of Windows, only had an cardbox envelop or plastic plastic case with no fancy manual and just a disk and a product key, that is the System Builder OEM license. In other words, OEM license of Windows for people who build computer for themselves or others, that isn't a big company like Dell, HP, Acer and so on.
When you bought Windows, on the product page of your Windows 8 purchase, it would say: System Builder OEM (or just say "OEM" for short just to confuse everyone) or Retail in the title or product description.
In other words (pictures may vary based on version and region):
-
If you have nothing. -> OEM license. Not transferable. Product key is stored in the UEFI chip
-
If you have this:

-> System Builder OEM license. Not transferable.
-
If you have either of these boxes:

-> Retail license. Transferable!
