Hello my name is Alex and I would like some help in upgrading my computer.
My rig is an INTEL i5-3340 (stock cooler), 4GB of single channel DDR3 Ram (http://prntscr.com/fj6uhb) , an ASROCK h61m-ps4 micro-atx motherboard, a SANDISK ultra II ssd at 240GB, PSU is a RECOM Power Engine 600Plus .

The reason I am making this topic is that I need a new graphics card since my palit gtx560 (not ti) kicked the bucket(started with weird artifacts and corruptions while playing LoL then even in bios there are white lines, cant even log into windows properly ) on April 8th-9th and have since resorted to using the integrated graphics which means I can't play any games at an acceptable level.

My question is would my i5 3340  bottleneck a 1070?? (I will probably get a ddr3 16gb ram kit at the speeds recommended by intel for my i5   (1600mhz)).

The games I intend on playing are League of Legends, World of Warcraft, World of Warships, Warframe, CS:GO, XCOM2, PAYDAY2 (I could already play them at 1080p medium/high on the gtx560) and would like to try witcher3,doom,skyrim(remastered), maybe the new CoD, Star wars Battlefront and other AA or AAA titles. (tldr not limit my game options). My monitor is a 1080p tv/monitor at 60Hz.

At coolermaster's power supply calculator I put my current hardware except for the ram, graphics card and an additional case fan. I set the ram to my desired capacity and the 1070 to max clocks possible for a max power scenario(http://prntscr.com/fjlddt)

I attached a photo of the sticker on the side of the PSU but I got no clue which column is for which connector.

In the event that a 1070 is going to be bottlenecked which graphics card would be good enough at a reasonable price but keeping the system good enough for games in the long run? I would like at least 2 years before the next upgrade is necessary if possible. I live in Greece so the 1070 costs anywhere between 410-490 euros .

PS what criteria is used when choosing a graphics card brand (eg evga, msi, xfx, etc) ? clocks differ around 10% usually . Or is it personal preference based on non-technical criteria?

Since you get weird lines in bios I don't think this is GPU problem. Have you tried your 560 in another machine? IMO your cpu is a bit too weak for the 1070, but don't get me wrong, you should still see improvement over the 560 by quite a bit.

then what is the problem? i get the white lines in the bios and corrupted graphics/weird artifacts everywhere else. It happened while playing LoL . Started with distorted in game graphics like long diagonal lines from my character to the edge of the screen. Even got a crash or two. Then the next day (April 9th) everything became as it is now. After googling a lot I deduced that it is the graphic's card memory that died on me. If the cpu and psu are too weak then what would be a good alternative that would last me some time ? I don't have another system to test the gtx560 on

I'm suggesting to try 560 in another system before you conclude that this is the GPU problem.

or

Try Another GPU in current system before purchasing 1070. And see if you still get artefacts - that would indicate that 560 is not faulty, but something else is.

If neither are available options and you decide to get 1070 (given your 560 is faulty) I think you will see very good improvement over 560 even if the CPU is bottlenecking the card by some. You can upgrade CPU later if you're not happy with the only card upgrade.

The reason I say this might not be GPU is that I had a similar experience with a laptop and it was a motherboard and not GPU.

Thank you for the help :) , I will probably need a new cpu/mobo/ram if I want to play some of the games I listed like doom. in game-debate it lists a better cpu as requirement
