Help with Fs105

So I got a network switch recently and when I connect from the router to the switch into my pc it does not have network access. I have tried releasing and renewing but it gets errors for some reason. plas help meh I don't knuw network

Are the lights on the ports. Does the pc show a link up?

Does your computer get a network connection when you plug directly into the router?

Have you tried plugging the router and your computer into different ports on the switch?

Are you using the right power supply for the network switch?

Could be a broken switch. I've bought a switch from netgear before at bestbuy and the switch was completely dead and didn't work.

Yea it just says that there is no network connection. Also says its an unidentified network. I ran the troubleshooter and it said that there was not a valid Ip configuration. I do have DHCP on

Yes.

no. I have an airport extreme so IDK if this will make a difference.

Yes it was supplied in the box

Try disabling auto DHCP and set your own static lan ip

how might I acquire said static ip? Ipconfig?

1. Go to network and sharing center 

2. Click The Connection next to Connection

3. Click Properties

4. Select the IPv4, and click properties

5. Choose 'Use the following' for both. You can enter the same DNS I did (google's dns). Mine starts with 10.0.0 cause my router's gateway is that, but some are 192.168.0, just make sure you set your IP to one that isn't taken, and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0

Nope nothing. Same problem. Idk if it helps but I have an apple airport extreme.

Does yours have 4 ethernet ports on the back? if so plug it into the bottom one seperated by the usb port and try it

lol oops. Can you elaborate? Do you want me to plug the ethernet from that to the switch then pc or what

just realized that port is for wireless routers. Honestly im not sure at this rate though, Airport extreme has officially derped.

got this error on trying to release. IDK if that helps tho
