Selling an RX 470 to crypto miners on ebay

Hi, I currently own a rx 470 and g4560 based PC as well as a g4400. I am considering selling my GPU and upgrading to a something like a 1060. I can upgrade to an i5-6500 for £75 by trading in my old CPUs and should be able to get about £250 for my RX 470 on ebay due to the increase in cryptocurrency mining and demand for rx 4XX or 5XX series cards. I mainly play skyrim with mods and forza horizon 3. I am looking for opinions on this parts list/upgrade and any thoughts on selling an RX 470 on ebay for an inflated price to crypto miners. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/7dY4QV

I mean, that GPU is more of a downgrade, albeit a small one.

why dont you mine yourself and get the money that way, you keep the card and the money it would just take a bit longer

Really? I thought that gtx 1060s were on par with rx 480s

I don't much like the idea of having my PC on 24/7 mining and have to deal with switching its purpose for gaming or just buying another system and GPU

6GB ones are. The 3GB ones are more like 1050tis + a tiny bit.

Yeah but rx 470s, 570s, 480s and 580s are out of stock everywhere and I don't want a 1050ti so I don't have many options. Plus 1060 6gb models cost about £40 more for not much more performance.

Yeah. I should be able to get at least £250 but I am currently following them on ebay to find out how much they go for in the end. There are ones with 1 day left at £250 so I would say that is the minimum I should get.

Somewhere between £150-£200 for the GPU. It will be paired with either a g4560 or a i5-6500 depending on what graphics card I decide on.

I know you can get good value but I don't think my PSU would like a gtx 980 and I am not much of a fan of going used anyway unless there are some great deals.

are you on facebook? i know a couple groups that sell pc parts within the uk, i got my old system for a great price from there,and my 980, and i paid £235 for my 980ti(febuary where they went for £300)

Not great. I know. I bought it as while back and its been ok with my current pc but I don't feel comfortable throwing a 980 in there with it. I do have facebook. I could get a corsair vs450 to replace the PSU with for £35.

Going from 470 4GB to 3GB 1060 is more of a sidegrade and not really a good sidegrade in the long run imo. Bare minimum you should aim for GTX 1060 6GB.
