So there was a big storm where I am and the power went out. After everything cleared out, I tried turning my computer on. Nothing. So I unplug the PSU cable, turn the PSU on and off, etc. Nothing happens. So then I open up the PC, lightly spin the fans just to see if there's debris or something, then I close the case, plug it in, and it turns on. Does anyone have any idea why this happens? It's not just this time but every time my PC doesn't want to power up, it does the same.

Thanks!

I believe that it's you are draining your caps from waiting longer that let's it reset itself and boot up, not the fact that you are "turning the fans" ;)

are you using a surge protector?

He's gonna an old Intel model t-760. Those bad boys were crank start I'd I recall. Lol, jk.

I would assume after being powered on, the caps would be charged, and it would start normally. It does sound very odd.

Hi @QuantumBit

I had the same issue happen to me last summer. My UPS's battery went bad, and I was stuck with no surge protector for a few weeks, and after a thunderstorm my PC did that. I had to swap out the PSU and I've not had the issue since.

I'm not saying that's what it is, but its a good place to start.

unplug the computer, press the power button a couple times, plug it back in, turn it back on.
