yes the default configuration is a good configuration of the fans, 2 140mm fans in the front and 1 140mm fan in the back

The factory setup is the best thing to stick with when in doubt.  The two fans and the one fan in the back will work great and create an over-pressure environment inside the case and that will help keep lint, dirt, dust, bed bugs, small critters and stuff like that out of the system.  Unfortunately it won't keep out the ex-wife.

 

The way I check the airflow in my case is to use one of those stick things you use to light your fireworks with.  With the machine running, light one of those sticks and then slowly move it around the joints of the case.  The only place you should see smoke entering the case is with the front fans.  Other places like where the sides remove and stuff like that should show the smoke being blown away from the case and not entering.  Just trying to put more air into the case than is being blown out of the case.
