Lag in OBS

I know I don't have a powerful system but I'm trying to make a video in OBS but when I move my mouse it's fine on my display that has the game running but it's horrid in my screen that is showing the OBS window and I've turned down the bit rate down to 500 is that too low or am I screwed 

Specs

• i3-5020U 
• 8gb of ram (single dim)
• Intel HD 5500

don't change bitrate, change the encoder speed.

 

Try turning off the preview and lower the resolution.

 

That system is slow.

I know my system is slow it's getting an upgrade this summer and how do I turn off the preview?

I found out and did everything I'll check once I'm done making it if there is any lag
