Dual monitors not working

Hi all

I can't seem to get my dual monitor setup working.

my main display is an Asus PG24.... something lol it's a 24" 180Hz panel that works just fine

I'm trying to connect my much older LG flatron w2234s as a second option but it's not being detected at all.... even if I change the display settings back to 60Hz, I have checked that the screen works on other machines and tried doing driver updated for my GTX 970 as well.... as for drivers and firmware for the LG... well lets say it's not supported anymore.

I'm running an X99 setup with Windows 10 pro and don't understand why it's not working... any advice?

What port have you used to connect the LG flatron to the GPU?

It is a bit weird. 1000 series from nVidia surely DO NOT allow any adapter to convert digital signal to analog signal. Because I've tried different methods to connect my old VGA monitor to it and it didn't work at all.

It might be the same problem here. Or maybe your adapter is not that good.

HDMI to VGA converters seem to be a pretty big pain in the ass, and I think there's something about 10 series cards not being able to do analog video signals anymore. Not sure on that one though.

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

This could be possible as the old screen refuse to work even when it's plugged in alone... even though it works fine with my laptop that rocks an 770m

There is your problem. HDMI does not usually carry an analog signal with it. You will need an active adapter to make that happen. Better yet get a DP to VGA active adapter just to be sure. This will solve your problem.
